OBITUARY
In memory of all alumni from across the years
The Department remembers with gratitude members of our community whose lives and contributions left a lasting impact on those around them.
The memorial notices below date from an earlier period of the Department’s communications and are preserved here to ensure that those individuals continue to be remembered by our community. We honour their memory and recognise the contributions they made during their time at Cambridge and beyond.
Rebecca Long
Rebecca (‘Becca’) Long was a third-year Chemical Engineering undergraduate at Sidney Sussex College. She is remembered by fellow students and staff as a talented student, a valued friend and a warm presence within the Department’s undergraduate community. Her death in June 2015 was deeply felt by all who knew her, and she remains fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched.
Dr Geraldine Rodgers
Dr Geraldine Rodgers was associated with the Institute of Biotechnology for more than twenty years and made an important contribution to the Department through her work in teaching, innovation and technology commercialisation. A respected colleague, mentor and supporter of students, she played a significant role in shaping the Bioscience Enterprise programme and supporting the success of numerous University ventures. Her contribution and friendship are remembered with great appreciation.
