Biography
Professor Laura Torrente Murciano is Professor of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge.
Professor Torrente obtained her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Rey Juan Carlos Universidad in Madrid before completing her PhD at the University of Bath (2007). Her thesis is entitled ‘Feasibility of the tandem reaction of isomerization-telomerization’
Professor Torrente leads the Catalysis and Process Integration research group.

The general focus on the research group is the integration of processes and development of novel catalytic routes for sustainable technologies.
Teaching and supervision
Professor Torrente Murciano teaches a range of core Chemical Engineering modules to Undergraduate students and serves as Director of Studies in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at St John’s College.
