Biography
Professor David Fairen-Jimenez leads the Adsorption and Advanced Materials group in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge. His research concerns the study of the molecular mechanisms that control adsorption processes in porous materials such as Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs).
David obtained his BSc in Chemistry from at the Universidad de Alicante in 2002 and completed his PhD in Chemistry at the Universidad de Granada in 2006.
He joined the University of Cambridge in 2012 and is a Fellow of Robinson College, Cambridge. In addition, David serves as Chief Scientific Officer at Immaterial, a company focused on the development of MOFs for carbon capture and hydrogen storage, and Chief Executive Officer at Vector Bioscience Cambridge, which utilizes MOFs for targeted cancer drug delivery.
